CULTIVAR: Megaritiki
FEATURES: Polyphenol-rich olive oil from early-harvested, green olives of the Megaritiki variety. From the olive groves of the Pulos family in the Peloponnese. Medium fruity, medium spicy, slightly bitter. Excellent with all hearty dishes. Absolutely safe raw food quality, ideal for vegetarian and vegan cuisine. Please use it raw!
HEALTH CLAIM: According to European Regulation 432/2012 (L 136 / 25.5.2012 p. 26), olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. The claim may only be used for olive oil that contains at least 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives (e.g. oleuropein complex and tyrosol) per 20 g of olive oil. This is the case with Elissón Premium (see Health Claim Certificate). The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of olive oil.
